AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season

In a bizarre collaboration that breaks conventional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Disclosed

According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and terrifying transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden sect.

The mission concentrates on "strange experiments and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Extra Content

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Unique arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Latest Free Story Update

This patch also brings the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
